The story of Green OX Pallets is a fascinating journey that began in 2015 when when a unique corrugated cardboard pallet was conceived. This laid the foundation for what would become an innovative and successful company in the logistics and freight transportation industry with a product that offers high added value in terms of sustainability and CO2 reduction.
Years: 2015 - 2017
The Early Steps
In 2015, a group of visionary entrepreneurs came together to address a common problem in the logistics industry: the need for lighter, eco-friendly, and durable pallets that could be used in racks and transported over long distances while remaining sustainable and competitive with existing industry offerings. This is when the idea of creating corrugated cardboard pallets emerged as an innovative alternative to traditional wood and plastic pallets, but it needed further development.
During the first two years, the Green OX Pallets Research and Develop team based in United States & Costa Rica, embarked on their first project focused on research and development of their product, with a focus on the transportation of fresh produce. They worked tirelessly to perfect the design, strength, and durability of corrugated cardboard pallets.
Years: 2018 - 2020
Expansion
In 2018, Green OX Pallets began initial trials with a newly designed structural pallet capable of transporting fresh produce under conditions of humidity, temperature, and storage in refrigerated rooms. The Ultra Plus pallet was officially being tested in the Costa Rican market, for use in fresh pineapple, tropical roots, and bananas.
Corrugated cardboard pallets proved to be a revolutionary solution as they were lighter than traditional pallets, as strong as wood or plastic, and a better option in terms of recycling, carbon footprint reduction, prevention of cross-contamination by fungi and insects, and generating less waste at the destination. This increased the profits for end users of the pallet and minimized environmental impact. Additionally, Green OX Pallets provided an innovative logistical solution as they were 100% recyclable and fully customizable, which attracted interest from a wide variety of industries.
During this period, the company focused on establishing relationships with customers and strategic partners, such as trade promotion agencies, as was the case in Costa Rica. This allowed them to expand their offices in Spain and the Netherlands and enter different markets and sectors.
Years: 2021 - present
Growth and Consolidation
With the momentum and interest from the industry, Green OX Pallets saw the need to move away from manual assembly and embarked on the project of building an automatic assembly machine in Spain. During this time, amid the global impact of COVID-19, the company continued innovating in the creation of the necessary components to complete the Green OX assembly machine.
By the end of 2023, the assembly machine was ready to be tested in both the Americas and Europe as part of the pilot commercial expansion project.
With this vision, Green OX is preparing for a mid-2024 launch, focusing on worldwide distribution of a revolutionary product in terms of sustainability and environmental responsibility in the logistics of goods. This includes sectors such as fresh and processed foods, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, medications, air transportation goods (both fresh and dry), textiles, and more.
Green OX Pallets aims to become a leader in the global manufacturing of corrugated cardboard pallets. The company’s goal is to significantly contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the global supply chain and earn a solid reputation as a key player in the sustainability movement.
